The concept began at a small, Seattle based company, when third generation CEO, Rob Moehring decided to take a risk with the family company.

It started simply, with bright colors and polka dots and moved quickly into everything from tattoos to leopard prints. The rubber boot changed from a muddy trudging wellie to a blank canvas, capable of displaying tremendous works of art.

E-commerce functionality is notoriously difficult to integrate into heavily themed or out of the ordinary web designs. Our brief with this project was to translate the Rock & Roll vibe of the Dead Legacy label into a workable online store.

“DBD exceeded our expectations throughout the project and were always willing to go the extra mile. They have helped us in several areas which were outside their original remit and helped add value to our brand. We envisage a long working relationship with them going forward.” – Danny Costello, Director

Liam is a singer/songwriter signed to Emperor Records in the UK, and we have built him a website to help promote his second album "We Ain't Got No Money Honey, But We Got Rain!"

We built the new Liam Frost website to coincide with the release of his second album “We Ain’t Got No Money Honey, But We Got Rain”, a fantastic collection of songs, even if we say so ourselves.

As well as the songs penned by Liam alone, the album features a few written alongside Ed Harcourt, which ultimately led to Liam duetting with the radiant Martha Wainwright on “Your Hand In Mine”.

The website is the best way for Liam to stay in touch with his fans and supporters, so it was important to ensure Liam is able to update the blog and gig listings as often and as easily as possible. The wordpress engine not only gives great usability and flexibility for us as web designers, the content management system is intuitive and well laid-out which makes updating it simple. Plus the site can be updated on the road with the addition of the wordpress iPhone app.

Kelly Ewing launched her label in 2005, and the unique style of her collections has captured the interests of everyone from independent boutiques to the largest name department stores.

Kelly has become a dominant name in the northern fashion scene, producing two full collections a year as well as one-off pieces mid season. She draws her inspiration from Victorian tailoring, mixing it with her own signature modern look, and believes her success within the fashion industry is due to her conscious decision not to follow fashion but create her own individual looks.

The website has full content management thanks to the powerful e-commerce solution and the web-based administrator area makes maintenance of the shopping cart as easy as point and click.

This website also features a nice image zoom feature to allow the items to be viewed in much greater detail than a usual website would allow – an essential feature for products as intricate and beautiful as Kelly’s hand-made pieces.

The Patchwork Traditional Food Company make handcrafted, award-winning pâté and much more besides. They literally make the best pâté in the world.

Patchwork was established in 1982 by Margaret Carter, a talented, although untrained, home cook, who found herself divorced with three children to look after. With a start up cost of just £9.00, saved from the housekeeping, she began selling her home made pâtés to pubs near Llangollen.

Despite the commercial scale today, everything is still hand-made in small batches, without artificial colouring, additives or preservatives, to Margaret’s original recipes.

We were asked to produce a website to match the amazing re-branding they underwent in 2008.

The website is a sophisticated e-commerce solution, that also allows full content management, however the real beauty of the site is in the use of flash animation.

We have fixed a flash footer to the bottom of the screen that brings the hand drawn packaging theme to life. A truly unique website.

You can visit patchwork-pate.co.uk here, or you can just google it.

Type in pâté and you will find it listed above any other pâté selling website in the world.
